The Maizel lab is looking to recruit one highly motivated post-doctoral researcher (m/f/d) to work on the elucidation of mechanisms that control the initiation of lateral roots in Arabidopsis thaliana.
The successful candidate will use a multidisciplinary approach, combining cell biology (confocal & light sheet microscopy), quantitative approaches (image analysis, biophysics) and functional genetics (CrispR/Cas) to understand how plant cells resume growth and reacquire meristematic features.
Your profile
You hold a Ph.D. in (plant) molecular biology with an emphasis on cell or developmental biology. You have a solid experience in microscopy and some knowledge in image analysis and quantitative approaches (Fiji, R, python). You have published at least one first-author research paper of importance to your current field of research. You take initiative, work independently and co-operatively within a team, and have a hands-on mentality, perseverance, and critical mind-set. You have excellent communication skills and are fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
